"The Factory", as popularly denominated, was inaugurated on the 9th of August 1884.
February 23rd. The very first sugar cane harvest took place on that day. From that date up to June 13th, 5.619.540 kgs of sugar cane were pressed.


Its production was very successful and its quality was awarded at the Regional Fair, where it competed among sugar canes, alcohol and rum samples elaborated over several years.
July 4th. Owing to the quality and reputation of its products, Queen Maria Cristina of Austria, through the General Intendance of the Royal House and Patrimony, grants the San Pedro Factory, the title of the Royal House Supplier.
A new and modern still, from Ergot & Grange Paris, Guillaume system is installed in order to elaborate alcohols and rums, on a large scale.
The famous "Ron de Arucas" starts to become more and more popular, through Alfredo Martin Reyes (Founder of Arehucas Rum Distillery).
It changes its denomination into "Destilerias Arehucas, S.A.".
The reconstructions of the San Pedro Hermitage -historic and artistic work- located in the premises of the Factory.
Celebration of the 100th anniversary of the entity, with numerous commemorative acts.
